Gary Hilborn is an actor whose television credits include a recurring role on NBC’s “The Blacklist” and guest appearances on numerous other hit series - including “Blue Bloods,” “Gossip Girl,” and “Taxi Brooklyn.” His recent film appearances include “Jane Wants a Boyfriend” (starring Eliza Dushku) and the romantic comedy “In Stereo.” He was born in West Monroe and grew up in Central Louisiana.

Acting has always been a passion for Gary, and he was lucky enough to find himself surrounded by several influential teachers and mentors from an early age and on into adulthood. When he was twelve, he began his training with Laine Berry Miller at her very first performing arts studio - located in Alexandria’s Garden District. In later years, he would go on to teach and direct alongside Laine at Family Playhouse, an educational arts program for school-aged children, which was co-founded by Ms. Miller and several other prominent, local artists. During his college years at LSUA, Gary was an active member of the school’s resident acting company, The Empty Space Players, founded by the university’s former Director of Theatre, Clay Kirkland.

It was during this time that Gary also became quite active with Alexandria’s City Park Players - not only as a performer, but also as a member of the staff. Under Richard Gwartney’s direction at CPP, Gary was afforded countless opportunities to learn every facet of running a theatre and putting on a show. Onstage, Mr. Gwartney directed Gary in some of his all-time favorite productions - including works by Tony Kushner, Brian Friel and William Shakespeare...just to name a few.

After moving to New York, Gary began studying with the Atlantic Theater Company (founded by David Mamet and William H. Macy) and quickly landed guest spots on several daytime soaps - including a recurring role on “All My Children.” In addition to his TV and film work, Gary has found a home within New York's theatre community. In 2013, he received a "Best Actor" nomination from BroadwayWorld for his work as "Eddie Carbone" in an acclaimed production of Arthur Miller's “A View from the Bridge.” Additional, recent New York stage credits include the premiere productions of “Sweet, Sweet Spirit” at Manhattan Theatre Works and “The Love Junkies of Hell’s Kitchen” at Theater for the New City.

Gary is honored to have been chosen as the Grand Marshal of this year’s Alexandria Mardi Gras Parade. Cenla will always hold a special place in his heart, as it provided him the foundation from which he has built his dreams and a home to which he knows he can always return.
