Julie Hanna
2008 AMGA Grand Marshall

2008 Grand Marshall

As an animal handler, Julie has worked in the Columbus Zoo’s Promotions Department for the past 15 years. Like her dad, Jack Hanna, who is Director Emeritus of the Columbus Zoo and host of Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures and Into the Wild, Julie helps to educate people about the importance of conservation through a hands-on approach. Through her international travels, she has seen firsthand the importance of taking care of our wildlife, natural resources, and environment.

Julie’s inspiring passion for preserving our earth’s magnificent wildlife is conveyed on her numerous appearances for local TV stations. As an animal presenter for her dad, Julie has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, Good Morning America, Larry King Live, Maury Povich, On the Record with Greta Van Susteren, Nancy Grace, Animal Adventures, Into the Wild, and various Fox News programs.

Being a cancer survivor, Julie has been a spokesperson for the Leukemia Society, Children’s Hospital, St. Jude’s Radiothon, and the American Cancer Society. She believes the greatest reward in life is knowing that your life has made a difference in helping others, whether it be people or animals.

In her free time, Julie enjoys traveling, working out, and listening to country music.
